Job Summary: 

We are seeking a seasoned Python Engineer with a solid foundation in data and network communications, particularly with SNMP. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and optimizing our network monitoring and data communication systems. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our platform’s performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain network communication systems with a focus on SNMP protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand end-to-end network requirements.
  • Develop and optimize data processing and network communication modules using Python.
  • Implement robust network monitoring and data collection systems.
  • Work closely with network operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system architectures, codebases, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in network communication and data processing.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and direction as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Python programming with a focus on data and network communications.
  • Expertise in SNMP, with a solid understanding of network protocols, data communication, and monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with other network protocols and technologies is a plus (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT).
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Strong background in Linux required.

Certifications:  

  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.

Work Environment:  

  • This position is based in the United States on the East Coast.
  • Standard 40-hour work week with occasional weekend and evening work as needed.
