The “All You Can Eat” Revenue Problem: Solved
In European markets, where usage-based billing is not widely deployed for wired broadband operators, both companies feel their combined solution has compelling ability to drive revenue increases by messaging subscribers when they are ready to upgrade.   Since OpenVault can detect when the subscriber is reaching their maximum provisioned throughput, and PerfTech can deliver a personalized offer to the subscriber at that critical moment, the integrated solution is poised to significantly help operators manage their “all-you-can-eat” plans and still drive the additional revenues needed to handle OTT content. “When and If operators are ready to offer usage-based plans, we are here to help with our global experience,” said Rich Evans, EVP of OpenVault.
Multiple Successful Options for Usage-Based Approaches
Synergy between the two vendors has been demonstrated by the successful integration of their products now for the fifth time among their ISP customers. OpenVault and PerfTech first met in 2011, when both companies were deployed independently in a major, US-based MSO who planned to offer consumption-based Internet packages. The MSO, now a reference account, has been using the integrated solution successfully for five years. As consumption-billing models continue to gain popularity, OpenVault and PerfTech have additionally integrated in four other telco and cable operators either to implement usage billing and/or to aid subscribers in choosing a “right-sized” data plan.
