JOB SUMMARY: 

OpenVault is seeking a new member for its Data Analytics team based either virtually or at the Jersey City, NJ, USA headquarters located directly across the Hudson River from New York City. The individual selected will work closely with customers, prospects, and internal teams to conduct research, analyze/interpret data, and build insightful reports/visualizations that help empower customers’ decision making.

The Data Analyst will work with large datasets and collaborate with all facets of the OpenVault team on customer deliverables. They will also have an opportunity to develop their own toolkit, utilizing OpenVault’s data infrastructure, that will drive actionable insights for customers and enhance OpenVault’s analytics solution portfolio. 

To be successful in this role, the Data Analyst will need a passion for working with data day-in and day-out. They should enjoy a fast-paced, startup work environment that requires an ability to think creatively and work collaboratively. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn the industry is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • Perform detailed ad-hoc and exploratory data analysis 
  • Create data visualizations using a variety of tools including Tableau
  • Identify trends and relationships within the data
  • Create, edit and participate in customer presentations
  • Develop, own, and present analysis & BI dashboards that provide actionable insights for OpenVault’s customers to make data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with customers and internal business groups to identify, define, and build analytics-driven tools
  • Provide input on how to integrate additional data sets from independent sources we can use to leverage our existing data
  • Utilize AI/ML tools and machine learning models to innovate and create new domain specific analytics. AWS tools such as Sagemaker and Redshift to power machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with team members on customer research questions and ad hoc projects 
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn domain knowledge of the broadband industry

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:  

  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability, quick learning, individual contribution, and strong business sense
  • Strong proficiency utilizing business intelligence applications, data lake and visualization tools such as: Tableau, QuickSight, Splunk, OpenSearch etc.
  • Knowledge of SQL, python, streaming analytics, and AI/ML is a plus
  • Ability to engage in multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deliverable deadlines
  • Self-starter with an ability to prioritize tasks and work across multiple teams. 
  • Excellent analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills
  • Desire for success and a positive/constructive attitude
  • Industry Knowledge of DOCSIS, IPDR, CMTS and Optical technology a plus
  • Understanding of cloud services such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, business, or a related field
